This is a story of two very stubborn, strong-willed people who each refused to be setup with the other…until Pastor’s wife got involved.

Maegan was born and raised in Tulsa, but moved to Oklahoma City in 2013 following college. Matt was also born in Tulsa, but was raised in Ohio and Texas, and only returned to Tulsa in 2015.

In 2019, Matt began attending the same church as Maegan's parents, and after getting to know him, her mother thought they could possibly be a good match. After her many failed attempts to somewhat organically introduce the two, the pair finally met in August 2022 when they were both asked to sing on the worship team for an Oklahoma Youth service. After introducing themselves at practice, they each quickly figured out who the other was. After the youth service, they said their goodbyes and went back to their lives, wishing they could connect again.

As it would happen, Maegan came home for Thanksgiving and attended church the following Sunday. With the opportunity to catch up before service, Matt and Maegan shared pleasantries and gave quick updates on how each of their holidays went. While they were chatting, they were spotted by Sis. Rayna Longstreth, pastor’s wife and aspiring matchmaker, who saw the potential.

Following that Sunday’s service, Maegan and her mom left for lunch at the their favorite Mexican restaurant, Señor Tequilas. While sitting at the table, Cindy gets a call and after a moment of concern, she began laughing out loud and handed the phone to Maegan. On the other end was Sis. Longstreth, asking for her number to pass on to Matt who was interested in going on a date. After a few laughs and permission to pass along her number, Maegan waited for Matt’s text to come.

Four hours later, the text came and the first date was set for the next Saturday, Dec.3.

And, the rest is history.
